Please tell me this is normal
I have this painful cramp like sensation VERY low in my belly, coming from the inside like right above my pubic bone. It almost feels like a cramp that's being pulled in?? Very hard to describe. I'm afraid something is wrong.
My lower back has been hurting on and off - I was cleaning the kitchen and sweeping/mopping right before this pain started. Could it just be I overdid it? I'm just scared something is wrong, but don't see what calling my doctor would do. Should I try to take a Tylenol for the pain??? Sorry if that's a stupid question, I really don't know.

Re: Please tell me this is normal
Well, I had a lot of cramping due to stretching when I was about the same time along as you are, and like you, I freaked out with every pain and cramp. If you have been doing a lot of physical activity then it's likely that your body is telling you to slow down (if you have any bleeding call your doc right away).
I would drink a huge glass of water, sit or lay down for a while and if it doesn't get better then I'd call the doc. (This always worked for me, but you do need to give it at least 30 mins I'd say) I personally wouldn't take any tylenol just so that I could monitor if the pain is going away on it's own or not.
I hope this helps and that you feel better soon!

Re: Please tell me this is normal
It's entirely possible you over did it. I have had the pain you described since 10 weeks. I was told by my OBGYN's office it is a result of the growth occurring as well as streching down there.

Thanks... by the way my computer once again reverted to my other name
I have checked and THANKFULLY no blood. Right when it started, I came to lay down on the sofa. The pain has come and gone since then, but it's still there. That weird cramp right above my pubic bone.

Re: Please tell me this is normal
Could be from cleaning/mopping. I get that when I mop. I wouldn't take anything. Just go to bed and see how it feels in tomorrow. If it's still painful I'd call the doctor, but it's probably just from cleaning.

Totally sounds like round ligament pain. Your lower back is just from your weakened muscles from everything spreading out and you overdid it, most likely. I think youre going to be OK!

OK, thanks guys. I was seriously about to start crying thinking that something was seriously wrong.
It's been about 2 hours since it started and at the moment it's feeling better. I just hope it goes away and that the baby's ok!!!

This is exactly what I was going to add, you're OK yesi, but take it EASY, the little bean is calling the shots now!!!!
Here's a C&P from babycenter about round ligament pain:
What is round ligament pain? Round ligament pain generally refers to a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting dull ache that pregnant women commonly feel in the lower abdomen or groin, starting in the second trimester.
You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day — when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.
The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen.
You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit.
Sooooooooo looks like DH is going to learn how to sweep and mop going forward right?

Re: Please tell me this is normal
Thanks Colette! I feel really silly now, but I have seriously never felt a pain like that before. It's not exactly like what's described in your post as round ligament pain (it's literally right in the lowest part, middle of my belly, right above the pubic bone, but inside, not close to the skin... it doesn't radiate to any of my sides). But yes, DH will be doing all the sweeping and mopping going forward!!!! The funny thing is that we were cleaning the kitchen together, but idiot me grabbed the swiffer and took care of that... no more!

How far along are you? It sounds like RLP. Drink a lot of water and take it easy. Everything you described sounds normal.
