Newsday is now $1
Okay, I understand that times are tough.
I would gladly pay $1 for a paper later in the week. But seriously, the paper on Monday and Tuesday is like 10 pages. That is ridiculous.
We were all talking about it on the train this morning. Wow, that's a lot of $$$!
(I do have home delivery but for some reason they can't deliver my paper by 7am a few days a week.)

Now that Cablevision owns Newsday they have to get more $$$ to waste on their failing/failed enterprise's like the Knick's and VooM.

Ugh, it is the most anti-teacher paper out there. All the news stories are off the AP Wire, they have hardly any real writers. I wish it wasn't the only game in town for LI news.

It isn't
A lot of towns have their own paper and for the east end there is 27east.com.
1010wins also covers LI news on their website

I used to deliver Newsday when I was a kid and it was 25 cents. That's crazy for it to be $1.00! And it makes me feel OLD!

Newspapers will soon be a thing of the past. Raising the price of Newsday to $1 will help it towards that goal that much quicker.

It really does show what an AMAZING deal delivery is ($2.50/wk for 5 days, incl. Sunday)... though I am sure they'll raise that too.
Sucks they can't get it to your house early enough. Of course a few times a month it doesn't even get delivered.
