advice needed..DC goes to all men & ignores us ladies :(
my son is 19 months and is a "boy's boy". he's sweet, but he is super mischevious and a rascal, he thinks he is a riot (he is) and has a great sense of humor.
we read books, we play ball, he will cuddle with me on the couch when he wants....but if any men are around, he gravitates towards them and will just ignore me. i try to do the "boy" things, and build blocks, play catch, etc...and still no luck
my mom and MIL have the same experiences when they are watching him...like he is nice to them, but wants to play with other "grown boys" and will lay down on grandpa, for example, and drink his bottle and cuddle..and won't go to grandma!
(us women are only ignored when men are in the room.)
is this a stage?? people have said to me that if i had a girl she'd be closer to me than DH....which maybe i can see...but it breaks my heart.
i feel like i am failing as a mother, here. lol and i suspect the grandmas are getting a little sad, as well lol
has this happened to anyone? any tips?

I am not sure-it sounds normal! Has he always done this or just in recent months/weeks?

Lily did that for a while with me also....so it's not just a boy thing, and it doesn't make you a failure!! She would refuse to come to me, refuse to hug me or kiss me....but if her daddy came near, her face would light up and she acted like the world stopped! It broke my heart sometimes....but other times it was great because I could get stuff done without her hanging all over me .
Recently (she's 29 months now) she's noticed I'm alive again and she's a lot more affectionate with me. It's really special because I didn't get the attention for so long...and now I'm getting it again.

ok, so there is hope!! lol
i feel like he has always taken to DH a bit more than me, but i feel it's because im not always like roughhousing, which he loves! (you know, tickled, chased, thrown in air, etc lol)
i'm more calm i think. i just hope it is a stage.

My DS does the same thing. Honestly I think it has to do with the fact that he's with females ALL the time. Me, DD, my friends, his teachers, etc. He doesn't get much time with Daddy so I think he tries to get his "man love" when he sees other men. He's a boys boy as well and which is why I think he needs to be with other males more.
DD is totally a daddy's girl, but she doesn't go to other men at all - just daddy.

... and when he's 12+, you'll be venting that he spends too much time flirting with all the girls...
