Anyone else react to vaccine?
So DS got the swine flu vaccine this past Monday. It was a major debate for me to give it to him or not but I decided it was a good thing in the end especially since he is in 2 different schools and I am pregnant. He seemed fine no reactions or problems-not even sore... tonight Thursday) he seemed to be a little lethargic and just wanted to cuddle so I thought... oh great he is getting something-he felt warm so I take his temp and sure enough 102!!! I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience from the vaccine. I usually run a low grade fever from the regular flu shot but this is new so I have no idea what to make of it Thanks!

Re: Anyone else react to vaccine?
Me personally...not swine but regular. I had a bad reaction the reg flu shot years ago. I was feverish on and off for a LONG time right after the shot. I would bet it's from the shot but many will disagree, including your ped very likely. I am sorry he doesn't feel well.

Re: Anyone else react to vaccine?
Oh I know my ped and my dr will disagree but I usually never get the flu shot since I ALWAYS personally react like this. I know quite a few others that run low grade fevers and have some symptoms after the reg. flu shot so that is why I wondered if anyone had a similar experience with this shot. Thanks he feels much better this morning-not really fever-ish anymore.

Re: Anyone else react to vaccine?
I'm sorry to hear your son was not feeling well after the Swine Flu vaccination.
Did he have the nasal mist or the shot? The nasal mist is live, which is more effective but causes flu-like side effects.

Re: Anyone else react to vaccine?
Ditto about the mist-it can cause a mild version of the flu.
I'm not sure about this shot, but generally, I thought most vaccines show side effects within 48 hours? I could be wrong. Maybe check in with your pediatrician soon.
Sorry to hear DC is sick!

Re: Anyone else react to vaccine?
DS got the mist on Tuesday and woke up with a really runny nose today (just very congested) but no fever.

Re: Anyone else react to vaccine?
Thanks for the info ladies! DS actually got the shot not nasal mist-that scared me for some reason. He seems much better the fever was really only for a day but he has been so crabby lately .I am hoping it is all just side effect and will pass soon
