OB questions
Hi. I'm new to LIF. I was just wondering if any of you could answer some questions for me. I am not yet pg but we are starting to try. I have been with my ob/gyn for 3 years, Dr. Fradella in Massapequa. I like her but don't like her PA.
Has anyone else used her for their pregnancy? What were your thoughts on her?
Does the PA do most of the prenatal visits? Will she be there for the delivery?
Does anyone know who is her coverage for deliveries if she is unavailable on that day?
Also, does she have a high rate of c-sections?
I have 6 months before my next visit but have been concerned now that we are trying.
Thanks for any input.

Re: OB questions
i don't know anything about that doc, but if you have been with her for 3 years maybe you can have a pre-conception appt with her and she can answer all those questions and then you can decide if you want to change docs

Re: OB questions
My only experience with her was a rotten one. Her name peeves me! I was PG, called and scheduled my 1st appt with her (8 week appt). At 6 weeks I call to say I was bleeding She sends me to the ER. There was no heartbeat so she said to the ER staff to keep my original appt and call if anything changes. 3 Days later I started to miscarry, I called again and her assistaant said she couldn't see me for 3 days she was booked. I was crying on the phone explaining what I was going through and she continued to say she was booked till that Fri. My DH got on the and yelled at her and I was just completely broken at that point. The next day I found a new Dr who took me in that afternoon and I had a DnC before dinner.
It was the most horrible experience and I was COMPLETELY disappointed with her bedside manner.

Re: OB questions
alot of the questions you have regarding who handles the visits and who covers should be easily answerable by the office manager or by one of the nurses... you maybe able to call and ask one of them....
i looked into her when i was switching ob's but opted with a practice that had two doctors in it since the previious ob i had was an ob and np and i hated it

Re: OB questions
I don't have anything nice to say about her either she wouldn't send me to a specialst when i didnt get my period for 6 mths she just blew me off every mth saying it will come next mth. & i was trying to conceve at that time but w/ no period i have no fertial time frame. I changed drs after 6 mths i will never wait that long again. My new dr made me do blood & all these test found out i had 2 thing wrong with me & got my period to come 2 wks later.

Re: OB questions
Don't know about that office, but in my doctor's office, the PA doesn't ever see you during pregnancy, they only do GYN, not OB.
