1st Trimester Weight Gain

I'm only 9w3d and feel gigantic... I'm usually as size 4 and am feeling tight in size 6 pants. I've heard that every size is about 10 pounds. We don't have a scale at home, so I don't how much I've technically gained... Super nervous I'm going to get my appointment at 12 weeks and will have gained 15-20 pounds and get a horrible lecture from the OB. How much did you gain? Did your size expand exponentially? This is my first pregnancy- do you always feel way bigger than you are?? TIA!!

Don't panic! In the first trimester, a lot of the expanding belly is from bloat, and not actual weight gain, especially when it is your first. That will go away before the real baby belly arrives. And do yourself a favor- don't stress about weight gain. Everyone gains SO differently. That's one of the reasons you see your doc every month, they will keep you on track. Just eat smart, and if your doc thinks you are gaining too much, he or she will tell you how to handle it. No need for the unnecessary stress on yourself!!

I've gotten tighter in my pants and I've lost 2 lbs. I'm almost 9 weeks.

I lost 4lbs. my 1st trimester cause I was so nauseous. However, my pants did get tighter in the waist. Weird right?

I am 9w4d and went from a size 2 to a 6 already. I have a scale at home and haven't gained a pound. I think your weight just shifts around at first.

i lost weight in the first tri and my pants were definitely tight

The first thing to go is your waistline even if you don't really gain any weight. That was true for me with my first two and now preggo with #3 I am 8 weeks and can barely button my pants some days!! But other days its fine. This early it is usually just bloat and will go away before the real baby pounds start.

Thanks, Ladies!! So, so happy to know I'm not the only one whose tummy seems full. I feel much better now... I'll call this little pooch "bloating" and hope that the scale will be nice at 12 weeks

my belly is big because this is my second baby , but I was 120 Pre preg and I only weigh 112 now. so I feel huge but obviously I'm not.

I gained 5 lbs by week 6, I was worried OB said its just water weight. It felt I gained a full size.

Nausea hit shortly after that appointment, and I lost 15 lbs, again OB wasn't too concerned, since weight fluctuations in first trimester are okay.

hey- i just posted about this too- im 14 weeks and i was a size 4 and weighed 120 my whole life.

well.

i hopped on the scale and now i weigh 140. thats right. i gained 20 pounds, and im not even 4 months.

not even eating badly either! i mean, i wish i could say WELL ive been downing 78 oreos and cheese doodles but nope.

i gained about 15 -20 lbs my first tri with ds and went from a size 8 to a size 12 by 10 weeks... i gave up and went onto maternity pants by 15 weeks.... in total i gained 55lbs and was down45 of them by the time he was 2 months old.... this preg was different because i nursed the first 4 months but as soon as i stopped i gained 20 lbs in two months.... you cant get yourself crazy over the weight gain..

my first triemester i lost 13lbs but my pants were sooooo tight, most I couldnt even button i started wearing maternity clothes at 10 weeks...i thought that was so weird!
