Moms of Multiples: Need your input gift giving:
Hi All! I gave birth to a beautiful DS 3.5 years ago. When he was born, my good friend gave us a very generous gift of $200. She just gave birth to her first children, twin girls. My question is: What do I give to the girls? Am I expected to give $200 to each of them? I am also having another baby (a singleton) in January & don't want her to feel obligated to give me a large gift. She is a wonderful friend & I want to do the right thing. What do you suggest I do?

I would give what you could afford to give. If you can only afford to give her $200.00 that is what you give. I would never be insulted if somebody didnt give me a giftt hat equaled the same amount I gave them. Times are differnt now and I cant see going into debt for a gift for somebody.... Just my opinion....

DH and I have struggled with this as well. His sister has twin girls who are a few months younger than DS. She has always been very generous with DS. However, both she and her DH are in a significantly higher income bracket than we are. We gave what we could afford in the end, which was less than she's given us in the past.

As a new mom of twins I do not expect people to spend double on my babies.....I always have believed in spending what you could afford. And a good friend would understand that.
