I know I am totally late on this but I wanted to send
I am so sorry for your loss, for your families loss. There is nothing to do but to be there for each other, to let them know that its ok to grieve and to grieve yourself!! I am sure their mother would not have wanted them to be sad I find comfort in looking for signs from my dad. I was 19 when he passed in 2003.
Ever since his death, I have found signs from him. Most recently, my pregnancy. I am due the day after his birthday and 2 days ago, we found out that we are expecting a  ! I am convinced he will be born on my dad's birthday! We are even naming him after my father who was John, he will be Jack.
It is comforting to think that he is still with us, really the only thing that keeps me from loosing it (even 6.5 years later)... Just be there for them, as i'm sure you have been. It must be hard now, the first holiday season... lots of for you and your family!!!
