I have a similar situation and went to a specialist. I found that my daily cup of coffee was causing the pain. Once I stopped the coffee the pain and bad lumps went away...I will always have lumps but it has gotten 90% better. I know this isn't the answer to your question, but have you experimented with your diet?

can you maybe wear a sports bra? or even one of those tank tops with a build in bra? (i guess it would depend on how big the girls are)
