Can I donate my books to my local library?

I have so many books (paperback and hardcover) in my apartment that are in good condition. Do you think if I called my library, I can donate them?

Many libraries will take used book donations to sell at book sales. Give them a call, it can't hurt.

Try other libraries in your area. I know the Merrick Library accepts donations for their friends of the library book sales.

Wantagh Library accepts them. Some of them that are in really good condition they will put into circulation, otherwise they sell them at the Friends of the Library used book sale 2x a year.

Also at our train station there used to be a book rack in the ticket office that was used as a lending library. Not sure if they still do that since I'm not using the LIRR any more.

Maybe a hospital? My aunt works at St. Katherines and they have a whole room of books that people donated next to her office.

Also check out swapping sites- you can list what you have and see if anyone has anything that you are interested in.
