Holiday season
Does it get easier the 2nd holiday season around? My Mom has been gone since 8/4/08. I miss her every day. My 15 month old never knew his Grandma! It saddens me every day! Last Christmas I was just so upset by this, Does it get easier with the holidays the 2nd year?

My dad passed when I was 12 and my brother died unexpectedly when I was 22. I was never a huge fan of the holidays and always thought I would feel differently when I had my own DC, because I would do it for "them".
Well, I had DS in March, and yeah, the holidays still suck for me!

Last year, my gram passed away on 11/15/08 and my mom passed away on 12/12/08.,,,, I could NOT WAIT for the holidays to be over! I was so glad they came and went!
This year, its going to be hard. I'm already feeling sad over it. It's my DDs 1st Christmas and she'll never know her GG (my gram) or her Nana (My mom)...
I'm going to be strong! Im going to try and enjoy it with my children, dad, siblings, nephews and niece.
I just said to my husband last night, I hope its not harder as time goes on.
We got through last year, I hope and pray we get through it this year.

My Dad passed away 11 years ago right before Halloween. The first couple holidays were rough. All of a sudden these past few days I've been thinking of him and started crying.

I can only hope it gets easier (at least a little.
This was our first holiday without my beautiful granddaughter. This would have been her first Christmas and it was so hard to get in the spirit. I had no desire to shop, wrap or much of anything but I did some mainly for my daughter but also just to try & lift my spirits. I do have to say that my Wonderful DH did about 90-95% of the wrapping(something he hardly ever does because he really does hate it!

They still $uck! It helped last Christmas when my nephew was born it made the holidays a little happier. This past Christmas was also a little happier with my girls.
I found this picture at my Grandma's apartment from a Christmas that she hosted probably 40 years ago. My Grandma, Grandpa and some other family members are posing for the camera. I keep it on my china cabinet and it's kind of like they are there.
