Question for those Nursery School moms...
So we are going to 2 open houses for our son who will be 2 1/2 for the september session....we want to be as prepared as possible to make sure we get him in. Any insight as to how fast these programs usually fill up? Do we have to be prepared to leave a deposit at the open house? Any other things you can recommend? Questions to ask the nursery schools?

Hi,
I went to a couple of open houses last week (for the 2 year old program in September).
One place (the most expensive I've seen) pretty much said to sign up now since the 2 year old class is limited to 10.
The other one allowed me to pre-register my DD w/o leaving any money and they would call me back in February. These 2 year old classes are also limited to 10, but if they get more people interested, they will create a 2nd 2-year old class.

I'm not sure about the 2yr old programs but when I started calling around in early Janaury for a 3s program I was shocked to find many of them in my area had very few spots left!

My DS is in a 2 yr. old program at his nursery school now. They sent out registration forms for their September programs this month and some of the classes are already closed.

i signed DS up for the 2yo program about 2 weeks ago. i didn't go to openhouses--just visited one and liked it

I started calling/looking a couple of weeks ago & when I found one we liked; I ended up on the waiting list for Sept for a 3's program. Seems they fill up fast!

We were on a waiting list for the Preschool we wanted and thankfully got in(we signed up about 7 or 8 months before sept.) We had a wonderful preschool experience with DD#1.

We I live in Brooklyn it is Brooklyn there were some preschools taking application in November for next year. I would say that most programs around where I live fill up the classes by March for next September.
ETA: Most programs want a deposit to secure a spot.
