Farmigdale Questions

We will be moving at the end of the month and just wanted to know if people could give recommendations for restaurants (take out mostly), best grocery shopping, dry cleaners, parking at/near the train station (we are not village) and anything else that might be helpful for us.

TIA

Re: Farmigdale Questions

We love Rosemaries for pizza/ italian food, Tiny Thai on Main St. We go to Best Yet but for big shopping Pathmark in Levittown. If I think of anything else I'll respond again.

Re: Farmigdale Questions

Best pizza we found was Alitalia on Main st ... Tiny thai is VERY good... As for shopping, we would actually travel to stop and shop... just liked it better than pathmark/waldbaum's... love guinta's for meats as well... As for chinese food, definitely china 2 on merritts

PS: Not sure if you now but they are building a stop & shop right in farmingdale on motor ave... They were working pretty quickly on it so im guessing it will be complete by the summer

Re: Farmigdale Questions

Pizza: Rosemarie's or Lenny's on Merritts and Ginos on Main Street

Chinese: Don't know the name, but it's in the same shopping center as Rosemarie's on Merritts

Food Shopping: I go to Pathmark or Stop & Shop in Levittown. Guinta's on Route 109 is really great for produce and quick runs. Between there and BJs I get most of my shopping done and really only go to the food store when something is on sale.

Pizza: 2 Brothers on Main Street
Chinese/Japanese: Ed Young on Hempstead Turnpike
Food Shopping: Pathmark on the Turnpike in Levittown, Waldbaums on Main Street and there will be a new Super Stop and Shop on Motor Ave in the springtime.

Re: Farmigdale Questions

I work right on Motor - and yes, we're getting a giant new stop & shop across the street in the spring!

we like the pizza from either Ginos on main street or mary's on main street (south of 109, in the shopping ctr with courtesy drugs. that's a 24hr drug store, btw).

the best chinese we've had is from lotus garden on conklin

i enjoy the manicures @ Oh Nails on Merritts

mankers on merritts is the best florist around

if you're looking for a special steak or something, you can't beat the meats at Main St Meats

bagels from Bagel Hut on 109 are great, but if you want a deli/sandwiches, you can't beat bagel factory in airport plaza.

there are several grocery stores in the area - we like giunta's or best yet for produce, giuntas for meat/cold cuts, but if you want major shopping, you'll need to head down hempstead tpke.

welcome to the 'hood

DO NOT get manis/pedis at the nail place in the same shopping center that has marys pizza on main st... ive been there twice and they were the absolute worst... 1st tried them for my wedding (i only go for nails for special occasions) and i was there for hours and they did a crappy job... then thought to myself alright... let me give them another shot since it was busy.. they were trying to rush etc... I went in again on a day where there was 1-2 other customers and i sat in the pedi chair for wayyyyyy too long... They are slow as hell.. and the work once again was nothing to rave about Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Farmigdale Questions

Welcome to Farmingdale!

My favs:

Pizza: Mary's on Main St and Rosemarie's on Merritts are both good.

Chinese: We go to Tang's in Lindenhurst because it's our favorite, but for take out we go to Lotus garden sometimes.

Cleaners: Bobby's on Main Street...(love him). He is so nice and always helps me to my car.

Grocery: Giunta's on Rt. 109 for meat and stuff and I go to Stop and Shop in W. Babylon for big shopping. Can't wait to have the Stop and Shop right on Motor.... ;)

Parking at the train, you can apply for a parking permit even if you are not village. It is $250 for the year. Otherwise, it's a long walk or you can pay $3.00 a day at the meter, but you will need quarters.

Good luck with your move.... :)

lol its so funny that someone else agrees... i mean, im not picky bc like i said, its not "my thing" normally, but i wanted to strangle them Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Oh and to the OP, if you get threading done, theres a place on main st right near alitalia... veru convienient for me at the time, but she will KILL you... she does shape them nice though so if you can take the pain, then its okay.... otherwise... ugh... i would just travel to levittown to pooja (gardiners ave) instead
