bath poll

Just wondering, since there have been a bunch of bath posts recently. Everyone is my family has used the kitchen sink to bathe our babies until they are about 2 or 3 when they go to the bath tub. I'm sure we do it just because that is what my mom did.

So where do you bathe your baby after they grow out of the infant tub?

Re: bath poll

We bathed DS in the infant tub until about 9 months old, the moved to the big tub. At 10 months old we used the sink for 2 months (we didn't have a tub), then back into the big tub.

ditto... we have this lounge chair thing that goes in the tub and folds easily. We use it sometimes when washing, but usually we hold him in there

Just the tub, DS freakin loves it! He's always loved his bath but now that he has move to "swim" around, it's almost impossible to get him out.

Re: bath poll

DS outgrew the kitchen seat long ago. Since he was able to sit up by himself, right into the bathtub he goes. We never even used his baby tub.

We used something similar, though it was just a rectangle shape, inflatable tub. Put it inside the tub.

Re: bath poll

We used the infant bather, then transitioned to the inflatable ducky. Now he is bathing in the tub with a non-slip mat in the bottom. He is a water baby. He fights when I tell him it is time to get out.

Re: bath poll

In a infant to toddler tub in the bathtub.

My family and DHs family also suggested the kitchen sink to me...but even the cleanest kitchen sink skeeves me out personally to bathe my child in. Don't care if others do it but it's not for me.

Liam's 1 year and still in the infant tub. We may start the big tub soon. We've been using the infant tub inside our big tub for a while now.

Re: bath poll

I have 3 children my oldest I put him in one of the baby baths then into the bath chair then the bath tub.
My second I put him in one of those bouncy bath seats, i hated it and then right into the tub.
My youngest I put her in my kitchen sink I think its adorable!! and also in the bath tub. I do the sink when Im in a right and bath tub when I'm not.

With miki we bathed her in the infant tub in the sink until 6 months when we switched to the big tub, plan to do the same with KJ (if he is sitting up well by then)

Re: bath poll

We've bathed DS since birth in the big tub using a mesh bath seat/sling thing. He's too big for it now, and we've got to find another solution, but he loves it.

I soooooooooooooo wish we could give Ann baths in the kitchen sink (like I got as a kid Chat Icon ) but we have a VERY deep undermount and granite counter and I think it would be too hard and I'd be so nervous about her slipping ang hitting the granite.

I'm not looking forward to having to use the real tub and breaking my back Chat Icon

Re: bath poll

put a kitchen towel under her in the sink so she doesnt slip or cut one of those non slip bath things to fit in your sink while you give her bath

Re: bath poll

Baby tub

First month or so was on the kitchen table in the tub. Then inside the tub

Now she's 16m and still in her tub cause frankly our tub is nasty Chat Icon The insider 'layer' is coming off. Its BRAND NEW (resurfaced after we moved in) but it still peels I'm afraid she'll grab some and eat it.

I aslo can NOT scrub that tub or more of that gunk will come off and I'll be left with nothing but exposed tub. So about 6months now and never been scrubbed. Then again no one uses it but her and her tub.

We used an inflatable tub inside the regular tub. It uses less water and it keeps the water warmer longer.

With DD#1 I did the kitchen sink up until she turned 2. With DD#2, since her sister was already in the big tub, it was easier for me to just bathe them both together in there.
