Mutiple mommies to be - question
Are you seeing a peri?
- I dont
I see a regular obgyn. I have an appt today and Im thinking about asking why I dont.
I read that being IDENTICAL that I should be seeing one.
I think its because im very healthy and dont have an pre existing problems with #1 nor have any now.

Re: Mutiple mommies to be - question
I didn't, but I did go to a high-risk OB.
I was referred by my regular OB to a high-risk Dr. at 12 weeks due to a clotting issue (pre-existing) that I had. Otherwise I would have stayed with my regular OB.

Re: Mutiple mommies to be - question
I saw a high risk doctor starting at around 20 weeks I think My practice said they send all babies of multiples to one. Thanks goodness they had one within the practice. Good thing because I had some major complications.

Re: Mutiple mommies to be - question
They had me seeing their in-office peri who I honestly felt did nothing for me....(she never even really examined me). I was having some issues and they sent me to a different peri who I will continue to see throughout my pregnancy and my OB will only be delivering me (by my choice since I feel they missed alot at my office and their peri sucked...)

Re: Mutiple mommies to be - question
how far along are you? i see a peri every 2 weeks and my regular obgyn every 3 weeks. i am also having identical twins. i have heard that it is very important to see a peri bc identical twins share a placenta and they need to monitor their growth. i would ask your OBGYN if he can refer you to one for MFM (maternal fetal monitoring).

Re: Mutiple mommies to be - question
I saw a regular obgyn. THere was a high risk doctor that came to the office once a week. I had to make an appointment with her after I saw my regular dr.
Be prepared to spend a lot of time there.
It might make more sense to see a peri. Def ask your doctor next time.

Thanks for all responses!
I dont know why he has never mentioned one. Im wondering if I should go on my own and ask him why?
Again, I think because I dont have any exisiting probs nor did I have any prior, its not necessary. I got my NT scan results and he said they were EXCELLENT!

Re: Mutiple mommies to be - question
Are they sharing a placenta? If so then yes...if not you may want to anyway. Why not you know? It can only help
