Vacation day poll....
You have been at a company for 5+ years. What type of vacation time do you have? Is it capped?
I'm not happy with what I have been presented with and I want to try to get a feel for what the "norm" may be.

DH's company sucks in many ways, one of which is that no one, besides the President and VP have more than 2 weeks of vacation time.
I work in a school, so my vacation time is different. I get less than most educators, because I work in a special ed preschool, and we are required to work summer session for 6 weeks.
ETA: He has been there for almost 9 years.

At my job you get 2 weeks when you start, then 3 weeks after 5 years and 4 weeks after 10 years....

i earn a day and a quarter for each month and you can carry it over (for sick and vaca)
dh gets a lot because of his OT but for base pay i think its like two weeks off and 10 sick

Same with my company. I am here 7.5 years so I get 3 weeks. Now I just have to get the opportunaity to take them. I carried over 5 days which I will never use before June.

we have PTO so sick/vacation all in one. and we are open most holidays, so if you want off memorial day, you have to take a vacation day.
with that said, Ive been here 8 years and get 35 days (it goes by years in service and title), plus we can have 5 banked (which I do), so i have 40.

I've been at my job for 5 years and get 4 weeks. That's the max. (We do get off for Christmas week too and also get 10 personal days a year.)

We get 3 weeks plus 2 personal days to start. You get a 4th week at 5 yrs and keep that. Then every milestone year you get an extra week (apparently just for that year)

My company stinks and we just get 2 weeks vacation. We have to plead to the owner to get more vacation.
My old job it was 2 weeks to start, 12 days after 2 years, 3 weeks after 5 years, 17 days after 7 years, 4 weeks after 10 years.

Dh gets @ 4 weeks . This does include sick days which are unlimited--well I guess if you abuse it they look into it  but there is no "set in stone" number.

From 1-4 years you get 2 weeks
5-14 years you get 3 weeks
15+ years you get 4 weeks

At 5+ years, I get 4 weeks per year, plus I can carry over up to 2 weeks from the previous year. Those 2 weeks have to be used by June 30th or they are lost.
ETA: the 4 weeks per year (not inlcuding the carry over) is capped.

I don't have a job at the moment, but DH gets 6 weeks starting. I don't know if that increases or not b/c he just started.
We live in Germany so that's why it is so high. In Australia he had 4 weeks starting.
It doesn't roll over either, you have to use it up by the end of the year. That shouldn't be a problem.
