How many of you TTC for over a year?
this is our 12th month trying. I've went for day 3 bloodwork and I'm going for day 21 bloodwork on Monday. DH is going for SA monday as well. I'm just ready to throw in the towel. I am so negative. I feel like I'm never going to get pregnant again. It took us 2 months to concerive DS. I don't understand. I tell myself every month it's not going to happen and I'm always right. A nervous break down is coming sooner or later. Everyone around me is pregnant, I don't feel happy for my friend. I'm so sick of hearing about it every day. She knows how long I'm trying. Can she rub it in any more?

Re: How many of you TTC for over a year?
We are just under a year at 11 months. We also have a DC who was conceived rather easily (4th cycle). I am seeing an RE and on my 3rd IUI cycle (currently in the 2ww). Hang in there!!

What exactly is done during an IUI? Is it an expensive an IVF?

Re: How many of you TTC for over a year?
I'm also on my 12th cycle after a m/c. My DC also was conceived verrrry quickly. I have had the CD21 bloodwork and my DH has had the SA...both of which came out normal. If/when I get AF, I am to go to the lab for CD3 bloodwork and an HSG the following week.
I actually happen to be fairly optimistic with the whole process...although it IS incredibly frustrating! I started temping this month and it's sort of given me a new focus, if that makes ANY sense. I am almost at the point where "if it doesn't happen, then it wasn't meant to be..." Yet, I don't think DH or I would actually throw in the towel for probably another year...if we keep our sanity, that is.
Hang in there! So many of us know just how you feel!!!!

IUI is when they take DH's sperm, wash it so the best ones survive, and inject it directly into the uterus (Intra Uterine Insemination). It's done around ovulation (sometimes its done twice - right before and right after) - in hopes that getting sperm to the right place without them having to get there themselves will increase the chances of the egg being fertilized.
it is not nearly as expensive as IVF or as invasive. especially if you already ovulate on your own. more insurance plans cover IUIs than cover IVF, although some plans don't cover either.

Hang in there - I know how hard it can be
We tried for 9 months with DS and 11 months this time around. It was very hard, especially when you feel like everyone else around you is PG. I actually started seeing an RE in Sept and was PG by Oct. I'm hoping it happens for you soon

Re: How many of you TTC for over a year?
We have been trying for just about 12 months, with 2 losses.
I am completely fustrated, sad, moody, and every other emotion you can go through. It;s ok for you to get upset, TTC is fustrating. I'm sorry about your friend.
We just have to remember that once everything does work out for us and we hold our baby in our arms, all the waiting and pain will be worth it!!!
Lot's of dust to all of US!!!!

Re: How many of you TTC for over a year?
We've been TTC for about a year now. We started seeing a RE in January and so far we've done baseline blood work (day 3 for me) and I just did my HSG today. DH will be going in for SA next week. Just hang in there. I know it can be really frustrating, which it has for me. At least you are proactive now and you will get your answer. It does get annoying when you hear all your friends are getting pregnant. What is worse is when people at work keeps on pestering you about "Oh, when are you having a baby". Just hang in there.....we are all here for you! Good luck!

Re: How many of you TTC for over a year?
We have now been trying for a year, with one early m/c at the beginning of June. We started trying again at the end of August. I have long cycles, and it has only been 5 cycles since then, but I am so frustrated. I'm calling my doctor on Monday to talk to her about going to a RE or at least going for more bloodwork. I want to make sure we're not missing anything. I'm having a rough week b/c AF is due, and I have every sign she's coming in the next day or two.
