disney wit dd...
we decided we are going mid-septemeber it works out better for DH with work and all. i hope it doesnt rain!! is there anything i should make sure i do? i havent been in like 20 yrs so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Wow, too many things to mention! Depending on your daughters age, the most magical experience might be dining inside Cinderellas Castle. Your daughter will meet and have her picture taken with Cinderella, then during the meal, many of the other Disney princesses will visit your table. I remember when we took our daughter the first time and I think I was more excited than she was!
To make it even more special, you can make an appointment for her at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique beforehand. They offer 3 different packages that make her a princess among princesses! :)

Make sure you make your dining reservations 180 days out - otherwise you may get there and not be able to eat anywhere. This happened to us the first year.

Absolutely! Disney has changed thier booking window from 90 days to 180 days for 2010. It's very important, especially for the more popular dining experiences, to be on the phone as soon as that window opens for your travel dates.

my husband and i are going to take our dd to disney in mid august ( its a family trip my inlaws do every other year) she will b 15 months . it will b her first time there...unfortunitly we r not staying in the parks but renting houses in kissemee
so renting a car is necesary.
any recommendations ?????
we were possibly thinking about driving.. has anyone done this before with a toddler? wouldnt it b more cost effective than flights and renting car?
Also any suggestions on reserving lunch/dinner ?

Hi Nicole,
Driving is certrainly doable, but I would suggest you breaking it up into a 2-day trip. We used to do this when I was growing up, stopping the first night somewhere in NC/SC, then continuing on the next day.
I have heard of some outstanding airfare deals being released lately too. So I would definitely check to see if any kind of exrraordinary deals are available. If so, you can usually get a good deal on a rental through Priceline or one of the other big Internet travel sites, that may make the convenience of flying/renting more attractive than the dollars you would save by driving.
As for dining, does your daughter have any characters that she readily recognizes? If so, you might look for a dining experience that featured that/those character/characters. You also are most likely already within that 180-day window, so I would make the dining plans a priority.

I personally don't think it would be cost effective to drive down. DH and I have never paid more then $200 (usually more like $160) for the flight and the car rental is usually around $200ish also. A drive like that will take about 23 hours even if you drove straight. Gas would probably cost you about $200. If you broke the trip up and did one night in a hotel that would be another $100 and then food. And to be honest, time is money and that's a LONG time i n the car. But hey, that's just my opinion.

thank u Bob, we would stop in NC/SC for us, DD will be 16 months by then , so it would be more for us to stop along the way. Flights have been outstanding, but im going to keep looking , hopefully by then DD will recognize some charaters and the charater breakfast would be great. yes booking in advanced is so necessary. thanks for the suggestions
