Had my anatomy scan today and.........
We are having............
 
Yay!!!! We are so, so excited to have one of each 
There was one issue, though. They saw choroid plexus cysts in my little girl's brain. Apparently they show up in 1% of all 2nd and 3rd trimester ultrasouds and may just go away. Even if they don't go away, they shouldn't cause any major issues. However, they also can be a sign of trisomy 18. They looked at the fingers and saw that they were fanned out, which apparently a baby with trisomy 18 can't do. They also looked at the heart, but couldn't make sure there was nothing wrong because it was too small...I am only 16wks, so it was really early. Typically babies with trisomy 18 have lots of other abnormalities and my baby doesn't. So, we are in the low risk category (they aren't identical and I am 31 y/o). But, I could really use some extra prayers!
I go back at 20wks for another scan to look at the hearts, the cysts and other little things they couldn't see.

Congrats!
My son (now a healthy 21 month old) had choroid plexus cysts at my 17 week sono. They were gone by my level 2 sono at 21 weeks. From my research I found it is pretty common, most of the time normal and usually resolve by 20 weeks. (which is why anatomy scan is usually done on or after 20 weeks). This website is awesome - read the message board - it will calm your fears.

I hope you can not worry till the 20 week and that the issues are gone by then.

Im sure everything is fine...
Babies with Trisomy 18 usually do show up on sonogram. They have a rather lot of structural abnormalities that would be showing up.
