Has anyone been on an MSC cruise?
MSC has the best itinerary for us in the Mediterranean. The ship I'm interested in also happens to be a brand new ship and has great deals since it's new. Plus 1yo DS would be free.
Everything sounds wonderful. However, I believe it is an Italian cruise company that caters to mostly Europeans. I was wondering if it was very inconvenient to be on a boat where English isn't the first language.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I cant imagine it would be any different then being in a country where english isn't the primary language If it sounds like a good deal go for it.

Like American cruises, they will most likely have quite a few crew members that speak English and provide itineraries and menus etc each day in several languages, including English.
Contact them if you aren't sure, but I think you should go!

Very good point! I didn't think of it that way. We are going to Europe after all.

Re: Has anyone been on an MSC cruise?
MSC has some beautiful ships and great deals!
Most of the bad press this line is getting is because they have recently broken in to the American market with the arrival of the Poesia in Ft. Lauderdale. This is a European line, and the European cruising style isn't the same as it is here in the States.
If you're looking for a different kind of cruise experience, you can enjoy this cruise line. Just don't go in with expectations of an "Americanized" cruise. There is not an emphasis on piles and piles of food for instance. Meal portions are relatively small, activities abit more subdued, etc.
If you can be flexible in your expecations, you should be fine!

I have not been, but they have an English language website, so English is probably one of the languages used on the boat, but you could probably ask.
I would only be concerned if I couldn't understand any of the languages the announcements were in.
English is one of the 5 languages spoken onboard
