Just had my 6 week sono and ...
the doctor saw two little guys in there! AND we saw both of their heartbeats!
I just finished my first IVF cycle and I am having TWINS!
My doctor told me though since I am so early, i still might lose one, but DH and i are praying so hard that both of them stick around!
So excited to join you girls! Hopefully it's for good!!

YAY!!!! I am soooo happy for you!!!
The doc told me the same (I saw both HBs at 6wks also) and they are both doing well at 18wks, so hang in there and just keep praying for your little beans

i think he was just being cautious. he didn't give a reason, but he said, "you're still early, and it's possible you could still lose one"
i guess bc lots of people lose a twin early on he was just preparing me incase it happens?

I was also told by the sono tech I might lose a baby at my first sono when it was discovered twins. I later told the doctor what she said and he thought it wasn't her place and it was inappropriate. Its referred to as the "vanishing twin syndrome".
Here I am at week #26 and the twins are healthy and growing strong.
Stay optisimistic and take care of yourself.

Was it your RE that said it? I heard it from my RE and I think they just tend to be more cautious because they see so much.
I will thinking of your little ones! Be happy and bask in pregnancy

I am having my twins through IVF and at 34w they are both healthy and doing great! Best of luck..i will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

I never saw an RE, but my ob did mention the vanishing twin to me too. I saw the 2 heartbeats at my first appt at 6 weeks.

congrats
i also did ivf and orginally saw three sacs but only 2 made it to heartbeats, so if you already saw the two heartbeats i think that is a good sign,
i am now 30 wks with my twins,
just take it easy, for a little while and stay positive

His HB was 99 where they like to see 100 or above and his sac measured small, but throughout my pregnancy he pretty much caught up to his brother. They were born at 5lbs 14 oz and 6 lbs 3 oz. Keep the faith and happy and halthy 9 months!

thank you all so much for your well wishes and your stories. they really did make me feel better. every time i think something bad could happen, i just re-read your posts!!
i think my RE was just being cautious and i actually did appreciate him being honest. i am the type of person that doesn't like to get my hopes up and then be really disappointed so i would rather know the reality upfront so i can prepare myself just in case
hopefully everything goes well though, i am definitely optimistic after all of your posts!!
thanks so much! now i just cannot wait to see them again at my 7 week sono!
