Smells and pregnancy
I'm in my 1st trimester, and certain smells are making me sick to my stomach. For instance, every time I walk into the kitchen, and I smell the wet sponges I feel so gross. Does anyone else have certain smells that are driving them crazy? Am I nuts?

Re: Smells and pregnancy
Get used to that, for me it lasted until Sarah was born. There are some stores that I walk in and have to walk right out since the smells really bother me. It drives DH nuts, I'm constantly saying "What is that smell? Do you smell that?" LOL.

Re: Smells and pregnancy
When I was pregnant I had a very rough 2 months, smells bothered me sooooo much!! I couldnt walk into a store with out going right to there bathroom to vomit, it was horrible. Food that I loved the smell of before I hated, I feel the main reason I was sick so much was to smells. Once my 2nd trimester started it was like a switch, I was back to normal.

Re: Smells and pregnancy
I am so glad I am not alone. For the 1st trimester I couldn't even go in my kitchen without holding something over my nose Poor DH, no cooking for me Then I had to get rid of every air freshner in the house.
Now things are a lot better but certain smells out of nowhere make me vomit

Re: Smells and pregnancy
I smelled the garbage in the kitchen while I was sitting on the couch in the living room.
I also had to leave the grocery store because I thought I smelled the meat through the packaging.

Re: Smells and pregnancy
Tuna, chicken, garlic, onions in my first trimester...I pretty much couldnt cook either....and I love to cook. It should subside in the 2nd T when your body adjusts to all the hormones....

Re: Smells and pregnancy
I couldn't eat at any restaurant, grocery stores were a challenge. My fridge, freezer, and since I am a property mgr, residents and prospects smelled bad to me!! I didn't cook at all cause I couldn't take the food smells.
MY KITCHEN cabinets to me smelled sooo BAD!! I would gag!! That was the worst!
