Long question - some TMI

Good morning, ladies!

I'm having trouble figuring something out, and thought that if anyone could help, it would be you guys.

In early February, I had my first IUI (w/clomid) - unsuccessful. My period actually came four days early - February 15th.

We decided to take a month off, kind of, and just try naturally. I used the CBEFM, again. I peaked on the 28th and the 1st (14th and 15th day of my cycle respectively). On with the breast tenderness, fatigue, bloating - etc. On the 28th day of my cycle, when my period was due, I woke up with some spotting. For the next four days, that's all I had - spotting. There was little to nothing on my panties or on the sanitary napkin. I never got full flow, or cramping. I still had breast swelling/tenderness (severe), some bloating, etc. When it was time to start using the CBEFM again, I got all highs - from day 6. On Thursday night, before I left work, I started to experience some brown spotting. By late night, it was at full flow - one of the heaviest periods I've ever had (mine is usually heavy).

I don't know what to make of the spotting. Any ideas? Was is just a very strange cycle? Has anyone experienced anything like this? If the spotting wasn't my period, that would mean I had a 45 day cycle, which is definitely wrong for me).

I guess I'm just confused. After three years of trying, and 6 months at the RE, I've never experience anything like it. I guess I'm just looking for some input.

Did you ever take a pregnancy test? It could be possible that you had a chemical pregnancy. I'd mention it to your RE on your next visit.

did you take an HPT at any point?
obv im no doctor but it almost sounds more like an early m/c than a chemical cause you would have been 5-6weeks if it was 45 days in between AF's (which you said is uncommon for you), esp if your real AF was the heaviest ever.

if it were me i might consider seeing the doctor to see what they say.

I did take one - but the line was pretty non-existant and I dismissed it as imagining things - we've been trying so long, that I have stopped taking them before my period is due. And then I was spotting, so I figured it was my period. I took it after the spotting ended. I don't know what it was.
