The Last Song - Nicholas Sparks
Anyone read/reading it? I am reading it now in anticipation of the movie. I'm having a hard time getting into it. But am hoping it will pick up soon. I'm about 100 pages in.
What did you think of it?

I personally thought it was boring and predictable. I was never a big fan of Nicholas Sparks, and when I read it I remembered why I dont really read too many of his books.

Nicholas Sparks is def boring and predictable, but I can usually read one in a day or so. The Last Song was unreadable- I couldn't make it past 100 pgs either.

I agree..did not read this one but I feel this way about him.
I like one of his books, I think it was the one Mandy Moore starred in the movie version.
And I loved the Notebook as a movie

A Walk to Remember was the one with Mandy Moore.
I actually liked this book, I thought it was cute even though I knew what would happen. I liked that it focused on the father/daughter relationship

His books go either way for me...either I love them or not.
If I have to struggle to get through I know its not a good one. For example, I have tried about 3 times to get through The Wedding, but I guess I am just not into that one because it feels like a task to pick it up and read!

Re: The Last Song - Nicholas Sparks
Well, I am not sure how the pages work out on my nook in comparison to the book. But I am now about 300 pages in and am LOVING it.
I don't love the narration of it. I find it rather confusing. But I love the story line.

It was my least favorite of his books, the movie actually looks better. I think he is running out of romantic story line ideas. One of my favorites from him, besides The Notebook is The Choice.

Re: The Last Song - Nicholas Sparks
OK, so I finished the book yesterday. This is only the 2nd book of his that I have read.
And I have to say although it was difficult for me to get into. I was crying by the end. I read the last 100 pages in less than an hour. I was so into it.
I definitely want to see the move when it comes out this week.

Re: The Last Song - Nicholas Sparks
I LOVED this book. I just found myself really enjoying the struggle of a teenager going through divorce, struggling to figure out who she really is and trying to fix a relationship with dad. I cried at the end because it hit home in a lot of ways for me. I can't wait to see the movie.
I heard that he wrote the book because Miley Cyrus asked him to so that she could be in the movie. What's funny to me about that though is up until the last few chapters I could not picture Miley as the character. I just didn't see it. And the whole time it was meant to be for her!

I actually really enjoyed it, and although his books are somewhat predicatable, I don't mind it.
