Using Pledge on your wood dining room table
Do any of you use Pledge on your dining room table?
I never do.. but I'm starting to notice how dull it is and was thinking of using Pledge.
Just wondering if you have any pros/cons/etc. TIA :)

I do but not every day, maybe every few weeks or so when I see it getting dull. I will dust it every day with a cloth though.

I use pledge for all my wood furniture. The key is NOT to spray directly onto the furniture itself, rather spray onto the cloth. It won't build up that way.

Re: Using Pledge on your wood dining room table
You should not use anything that has silicon in it. And you shouldn't polish all that often. This is how you ruin wood furniture.
When I bought my bedroom furniture they told me to use Guardsman twice a year. And all other times to use the Guardsman dust cloths.

Re: Using Pledge on your wood dining room table
I've been told that Pledge is no good, it leaves a greasy residue. I bought furniture from Ethan Allen and Raymoore (SP?) and I had them come in to look at something and both asked what I used to clean my furniture with? I use method wood cleaner. They asked me to spray to see and both said, it was a good product, as it did not leave the furniture greasy and/or residue.

This is really good to know because I have a Thomasville bedroom set and I've always been afraid to use anything besides a wet damp cloth. Now that I know Thomasville recommends Guardsman I can finally use an actual cleaning product on the wood. Thanks!

Re: Using Pledge on your wood dining room table
I use pledge maybe about once a week. I normally just wipe it with a cloth.

Re: Using Pledge on your wood dining room table
I was told by Raymour and Thomasville not to ever use pledge on the wood. They suggested Endust every few cleanings and spray on a rag, not the furniture.
I am hating my dark wood b/c it is always dusty and just using a dry cloth does nothing but move the dust around.
