Re: Does anyone rent a house?

We rented a whole house last year. We paid 2100 a month plus utilities. We had the whole back and front yard, a two car garage, four bedrooms, basement and attic. The house had a rent to own option which we were planning on taking advantage of because I am just finishing up my masters and in a world of debt because of it making it extremely hard to save for a new home while renting... there was no money left over to save. But thank God that we got to live there before we bought it because we would have never found out about the major issues the home had i.e. termite damage, termites, mold in the walls, long term water leakage. All things that couldn't be seen at first but after awhile reveled themselves. As much as we'd like to rent a whole house again and miss having a yard, esp. with LO on the way, we are renting the second floor of a beautiful home in order to save money for a house.

We do.

We pay $1600 a month and have the first floor of a single family house (BUT the upstairs is not useable).

We have two bedrooms and the world's tiniest bathroom.

But we have a fenced in yard, a drive way, the basement and a separate two car garage and a back patio.

We pay electric and cable. The LL is responsible for our oil and the lawn maintenance.

We rent the upstairs of a two family house. 2 bedrooms. No dishwasher or washer and dryer. We have to pay 400 dollars a year to park our mini van across the street in a municipal parking lot. We have no use of the yard. We pay 110 a month for a storage unit for our stuff. We have access to the garage but it is too full to put anything in it. We pay about 1500 dollars a month which includes heat and water. We pay for cable and electric.

We rent a duplex townhome. It's $2000/month incl. all utilities except electric. It's in a complex, so they take care of all maintenance. It's 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and has a backyard. We pay an extra $125 for a spot in the garage. There is not a basement or an attic.

Re: Does anyone rent a house?

We have the 2nd floor of a 2 family, with 3 bedrooms/2 bath, eat in kitchen, living room, dining room, attic, backyard (but it's not accessible from inside of the house), and half of the 2 car garage for storage. Our utilities are also included (electric, gas, water). We pay $2200, and $2300 in the summer for the extra electric from the window A/C units.

Re: Does anyone rent a house?

We rent a two bedroom, which we actually made a three (we didn't need the dining room and made that our living room). We pay $1500 a month plus all utilities (except water). We have use of the whole property, huge fenced yard, basement (OSE), shed, attic. Unfortunately, they recently decided they are going to put this place up for sale, so we'll be moving out in September.

Re: Does anyone rent a house?

We rent the 1st floor of a HUGE hi-ranch. We have 3 bedrooms, 1 bath and a beautiful kitchen with cherry cabinets, granite counter tops, small dishwasher and a HUGE island. The only thing we are missing is a washer & dryer. Both the front and back yards are paved. No grass at all. We park our cars in the back because our "front door" is in the back. We pay $1700/month which includes heat & water. We pay for the electric (separate meter) & cable.

Our landlord lives in FL but her son lives upstairs. My DH actually went to high school with him. He works a lot so we don't see him too often. We do not have access to the basement.

We rent the whole house...it's a small ranch. It's missing a dining room, but other then that it's great. Large kitchen, but no dishwasher, large living room, 2 bedroom. We have the full attic and half basement. We have access to the whole yard. We pay 1350 a month. LL handels water and lawn care. We handle everything else.

Re: Does anyone rent a house?

We rent the second story of a 2 family home. The first floor is rented by a family with a 5 year old son.

We have 3 bedrooms, one bath, living room, kitchen, and dining area/eat in kitchen. Off the kitchen is a deck with sliding doors. We have street parking and use of the yard. The downstairs tenants have the driveway.

We pay $1700/month (with heat/hot water). I honestly feel like we hit the jackpot with this place.

ETA: Because we are on the second floor, we also have the attic for storage.

We have a dishwasher, but not washer/dryer. If we did, I would consider staying her forever LOL!!!
