NO. NEVER. EVER.

I truly believe god doesn't put me in those situations because my DH would be a single parent!

I would have knocked DH over to get to her. I want to know WHEN it became ok to tell others WHAT to do with THEIR kids. You are much better than I. I would be in Riverhead jail now!

Some people have some HUGE balls!

i just let it roll off my back - what can you do?

The woman had a happy meal on her table...idk if it was hers or the child's, but is that pure and natural?!

Re: spinoff - those that don't BF, didn't birth "naturally", don't make own baby food-

yes, no, sometimes.

Some from family members, others from friends.

I've never gotten any slack for the c-section.

I know some of my IL's family members think I was wrong for not attempting Breastfeeding.

My MIL has stated she made DH's food but its not so much as a judgement.

I reply with "I commute to NYC, work 40hours a week". I went back to work at 8 weeks PP so when oh when would I have the time.

It doesn't bug me though. To each is own.

Re: spinoff - those that don't BF, didn't birth "naturally", don't make own baby food-

To the OP, Chat Icon , the freaking nerve of some people! I would have kicked her and my DH would have the one to say something nasty back!

I had a c-section, couldn't bf, gave jarred food, CIO, and had DS in his crib on day 1.

Honestly, the only time I have ever been judged or attacked are by strangers, first at my birthing classes (before I knew that I had to have a C-section, bc the only thing on my birth plan was drug me as soon as I feel pain) and strangers.

These people I don't give a rat's a$$ about so I couldn't care less what they think.

For some reason, I am more hurt by the comments on this board. I think it is because we all post so much that we feel like we "know" each other even though we may not, and honestly because I value and respect the opinions of posters on these boards.

They have helped me through sooo much and I truly find these boards invaluable.

LIF has made me so much more tolerant of other parenting styles, to learn to never say never or judge someone else's decisions.

that's why it hurts so much when other's judge mine.

OMG - SOME nerve. MY God people are ballsy!

I do BF, co-sleep, delivered naturally etc. AND use daycare Chat Icon I've gotten comments from family and friends about those thing

"Are you STILL feeding him LIKE THATTTT?? (Shocking to be nursing a 6-month old)

How I should be home for the first year of each child's life

How I should get a nanny and avoid daycare

How it couldn't possibly be financially worth it for me to continue working

We all are damaging our children in some way according to the world Chat Icon
In my heart, I know that my choices are good for us. And quite honestly, if they're not, then I'm the one that has to deal with the consequences - no one else, so not sure why they care.

That woman was way out of line. You Dh should have let you say something to her.
I breastfed and made my own baby food, but that is because it is what I wanted to do and what I felt was best for me and my babies.

I would never never never pass judgement on someone like that. I really don't understand why people think they have the right to be so completely rude.

Re: spinoff - those that don't BF, didn't birth "naturally", don't make own baby food-

Not too often-at least not that I am aware of but I could be oblivious to it.

I don't know what I would have done in that situation-I'm not a violent person but I think I would have thrown the empty jar of food at her head.

It's ironic because I just told DH that we are going to feed DS Earth's Best because it is Organic and better than what we gave DD. Here I am thinking I'm doing better by my kidChat Icon Chat Icon

In any case, I find some people are so self righteous and need to spend their time justifying their way of life. Me? I spend my life LIVING my life.

I can't imagine the nerve of that woman, why does she care anyway?!

yes I've been criticized by certain people and strangers for every decision I've made for DS. where do I start?! I pumped for 3.5 months, and was criticized by a nurse at my OB's office for not actually BF, she looked at my DS and said oh you poor baby. judged for having a c section, for giving DS formula, deciding to stop making his baby food, and the worst thing returning back to work. that's the only one that actually bothered me. DH and I let our DS get away with a lot, we are just very laid back, we get criticized for that too. It never ends!

it's good your DH intervened, it's not worth getting into w/ that lady.

Re: spinoff - those that don't BF, didn't birth "naturally", don't make own baby food-

I don't think I have ever felt attacked for anything I have done with my son. I wanted to BF but it didn't work out so well so DS gets formula. I make my own food b/c I like to and it's cheaper. I had a C-section b/c DS was breech though to be honest, I REALLY wanted a natural birth - because I did, for me, and in no way do I think C-section moms are any worse/better then anyone else.

But I am Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon that someone would say that to you - or anyone. I think Nutty McNutterson is a PERFECT name for this, ummm... lady? People are just bizarre sometimes. Sorry she did that to you.Chat Icon

Re: spinoff - those that don't BF, didn't birth "naturally", don't make own baby food-

I've never had anyone ever say anything like that to me. I've never had anyone - strangers or friends or family - judge me on any decision I've made with my kids from birth until now. If anyone has said anything behind my back, I don't know and don't care. I would have laughed in that woman's face probably because I am past caring what people think - especially when delivered in such a manner. Know it alls usually know a lot less than they think LOL My kids are hardly grown up but they are a bit older now and I've had more experiences and challenges to deal with that when it comes to so much of the stuff that people judge others on is so tiring - I can't even fathom how they have enough energy. Oh well...

Knowing my husband, he wouldn't have gotten in between me and that ******. He would have ripped her a new one. He's very quick with sarcastic comebacks. Chat Icon

As for me, I'm sure I get judged every day. No one has said anything to me, and if they did, they could go scratch.

Oh no she didn't! Chat Icon I would have went OFF on that b!tch...I would have made a scene, I can guarantee you that. What nerve!

I tried BFing. It didn't work for us. I feed my DS jarred food. I do not have the time (or the energy to be blunt) to make my own food. But my DS is happy, healthy and thriving. And that's all that matters to me.

Nic-I would have told her to shove it and walked away Chat Icon You totally earned the right to slap her!

I hate when people do things like that. We do what we feel is right for our child. As long as we are not abusing or neglecting the child under the Family Court Act of New York (or whatever state we are in), I say do what you want.

And FTR, since I am very familiar with said laws, daycare, formula and jarred baby food aren't in there!Chat Icon
