Naples, FL

So yesterday we were contemplating Bermuda in June, but I think we're now leaning towards spending a week in Naples, FL.

I found a great deal to stay at the Ritz on the beach, but we also wanted to spend a few nights closer to the city center. I was looking at the Hilton, which is on Tamiami Trail North, near Seagate Drive and the Waterside Shops. But I am unfamilar with the area, and wasn't sure whether we should find someplace closer to 5th Ave.

Does anyone know any good info about Naples??

It's beautiful...absolutely beautiful.
5th avenue is great...lots of great restaurants and little shops.
My parents have a condo there so we don't stay at hotels, but we've been to the Ritz for drinks and it's great. Not sure about other hotels though. Marco ISland is nice too, and close to Naples.

You don't need another Hotel, The Ritz is maybe 20-25 min by car to downtown Naples - we have been going down there for 30 years....There is another new hotel "The Hyatt at Coconut Point"- and b/c the A/C broke in our condo, we ended up staying there and reallly liked it. A bit more relaxed than The Ritz...

Waterside Shops are nice, Then there are the Ventian Shops....

Also, a lot has closed up down there b/c of the bad economy -- we were sad to see that!
