Wish us luck please!!!!!!!!!!
DS had a screening at our #1 school yesterday...
he was accepted into the program in an "over enrollment" spot.
now they have to contact my school board and have the spot approved. if it is approved we are in.
if they don't approve the spot, then if a spot opens up it's ours...
the real wait, i feel has just begun....
please wish us luck!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks

Re: Wish us luck please!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone, now i have a dilemma.
ive been told that our #2 school, has an opening for AJ in a class he would fit into... but if we go and get screened and get accepted we loose the chance of our "over enrollment" in our #1 choice and then the ONLY other way to get into that school is if someone drops out (NOT likely).
AJ has his screening for #2 on Monday.. do i go and risk them offering him a spot or do i delay the screening?
ARGHHHH this pre-school business is driving me to the loony bin..

Can ask a silly question....my DD had no screening done at all at any school I went to see. I just picked what I liked and they had a spot and she was accepted. I told (with my therapists) what ratio I wanted and they all agreed at the CPSE meeting. I'm just wondering if I missed a step and something is going to bite in the butt when she's suppose to start school.
Now to answer your question : ). I would definately get screened for your #2 school. I don't understand though why you can't be wait listed on your #1 and accept the spot in your #2 in the meantime.

Good Luck!! Not sure what i would do... On one hand I'm sure you really want #1, but you also don't want to get stuck with no school on your list... Tough choice. Why wouldn't #1 keep you on their list? DS went to an EI program and is also going there for preschool, so we didn't have to go through that. Hope it all works out for you

is your DD an early birthday? i guess it also depends on the "special need" label each child has. with DS we have to have him screened to see what kind of classroom he would best fit in... DS has a late birthday so all full day spots are usually full by the time March rolls around.
i can be wait listed, but they can also make an exception to allow one more child into the class with the "over enrollment" title.
if we accept the spot into #2 (should he be accepted and there is room) he looses the over enrollment spot and that could be offered to someone else and if their district approves of it, he cant get in, unless 2 people drop. hope that made sense
