Mattress for Twin (Bunk) Bed

I want to order 2 mattresses online for bunk beds that I am also ordering online. I have no time to visit stores and test out mattresses and they are both for my young daughters and they could care less about the firmness, etc. (I think). What kind of mattress should I get? I know they have to be a certain depth for the bunks, but otherwise, I just want affordable, decent mattresses. Any suggestions?

Re: Mattress for Twin (Bunk) Bed

When I got my DS's bunk beds I think they said no higher than an 8 inch mattress. Obviously the lower bunk can have a higher mattress but you might as well buy 2 of the same. Do you know if you need a bunkie board? That would add another inch or so. I looked around in a couple stores to see what was out there in that height and it's the most basic mattress sold anywhere. When you need a specific height, you don't have that many choices. And they all were pretty much around $200 (2 years ago) whether I went to JC Penney, Sleepys or Macys. So I ordered them through the furniture company to add onto the delivery. Definitely not to most comfortable mattresses but not horrible either. A quilted mattress pad adds some padding and even those foam overlays make a bed miraculously more comfy. We have one of those for a folding guest bed we own and I was surprised how it helped the comfort.

This is the bed I'm planning on ordering:

Bunk Bed

It only states standard mattress, nothing about a bunkie board.

You're good without one - it says that it has slats. If they are narrow enough, you don't need anything else.
