Just came back from 1-hr glucose...
I just came back from my 1 hour glucose and my arm is killing me! I didn't feel sick or anything during the hour wait but when it came to taking the blood, I noticed two things:
1) my juicy vein was nowhere to be found! Normally, its always ready but this time I had to pump and tap and eventually it reappeared.
2) My arm is really hurting me where the needle went in and kinda into my forearm. Normally, it doesn't hurt THIS bad.
I'm wondering if this is all because of the sugar and if you ladies have experienced this too

Re: Just came back from 1-hr glucose...
Since I was allowed to eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior, I had that problem yesterday too.
The more hydrated you are, the easier it is to find your veins.
It has nothing to do with the glucose drink.

Re: Just came back from 1-hr glucose...
i had to get so much blood taken during this preg. i know exactly what your talking about. maybe too late but heres a few things i learned to avoid it. once they found the vein you should have not have still been tense. its their job to find it not yours. than once its over apply pressure to the area. i did this until i got to the car. dont bend your arm today either.

Ya know, I think this might explain it. I'm normally dehydrated as it is and this morning I didn't drink or eat anything, not even water. I don't think it was the tech because it was quick and nothing out of the ordinary as compaired to all my other times. Thankfully the pain has gone away and there is really no bruising. I just didn't think that lack of water could do this to me lol
