progesterone shots?

Hello,

I have a question for those who did progesterone shots. I find them very painful, any advice or tricks to make it less painful and sore? Thank in advance for you help!

Re: progesterone shots?

I don't have pain when DH injects. I have alot of fatty tissue in my butt so that helps. Chat Icon After the injection, I massage the area for about 5 min, then put a heating pad on it for about 15-20 minutes. This helps the progesterone absorb better and I have no more soreness back there since starting this last Monday. Good luck.

Re: progesterone shots?

Do you have marks where the shots are supposed to be? I know this was a tremendous help for me and DH.

Re: progesterone shots?

i thankfully dont have to inject myself. the nurse at my drs office gives me the shot weekly.
i have to say i have been very lucky. i have only had a lot of pain 1x and i have been getting them for over 13 weeks.
where do you inject it? i get it in the area right below my lower back, but above my butt.

Re: progesterone shots?

No. They just hurt.

I did mine daily. They are intra-muscular, so the needle into muscle hurts. I did everything: heating, massaging, ect.

I'd also say watch the site & use bacitracin (after a week or 2, I started getting local infections).
