11 month old still not falling asleep in crib
my son still does not fall asleep in his crib.....we have tried to let him cry it out...it dosen't work. He just gets up and walks around his crib then. we tried to just leave him in there and see if he will fall asleep. nope! he has to lay with us in bed and drink a bottle or I have to rock him in my arms. and being he is 22lbs now it's getting tough. what are some things you have done?

DD is 9 months, I just posted earlier on this too...see my post....but short answer we are going to try to help her fall asleep in the crib...pat her back, stay in the room, etc...then maybe eventually once she gets used to that we will be able to put her in and leave the room.

this is a god idea. at 11 months i think it is reasonable for them to learn how to self soothe and "learn" to go to sleep on their own. as long as they are healthy, not teething hard core, or not hungry then doing some sort of sleep training is ok. i can't help too much b.c my kids had the binky which totally helps them fall asleep etc. but i have also done CIO before and it works. it's not easy at all but it works if you are consistent and strong. we had one "bad" night of crying and then DD was good to go. it was the best thing i ever decided to do. in my case i did not go in b.c it made it worse. if you do give in, then it is not going to work. sorry i was not of much help but good luck! oh i found having a lovey helps and a white noise machine too!
