Need Daycare Help/Support
I'm heading back to work part-time in a few weeks (DS is 3 months now). My parents are providing care 2 days and I need to find someone for one day. It seems daycare centers aren't interested in taking a baby for one day and I'm having a hard time finding someone to care for him in the home (again the one day thing is an issue). I was debating taking him to work with me and finding care in the neighborhood. So my questions are... where do you find names of potential people? And would anyone want to do one day?? Is it crazy to try to commute with him - LIRR and then subway? And if I do that - how do I find someone by my office? And my final question... how do I handle not seeing him at all for the days I'm at work. He'll probably be sleeping when I get home, I just need to hear that this is okay because it breaks my heart.

Not sure what area you are looking, but your best bet may be an in-home daycare...

Re: Need Daycare Help/Support
i went through this too. (separation anxiety..) it is rough until you get used to the routine. then, you just value the time you get so much more. i didn't have a problem finding ds day care, bc i had him in 2 days per week- and my inlaws watched him the other 3. however..
FM me if you would like. i am now a SAHM with ds who is almost 3, and looking for some part time work of any sort. ds is in school a few days a week, so i am free quite a bit.
HTH!

Re: Need Daycare Help/Support
try sittercity.com
also, Kindercare does 1 day. they're very flexible to schedules.
You'll be fine. Going back to work sucks, but at least its part time for you and not 5 days. Im looking for something part time now and not having any luck.

Check Kindercares, they do part time. My DS went 2 days as an infant.

Try Wizard of Kids in Bayside. I know they do by the day....think its something like $50 a day
