PCOS + OPKs....
I just read that if you have PCOS (which i do) that OPKs are not necessarily valid. I have comne off bc before and used the OPKs and they never detected a surge. I am now on metformin and last week, I had all of the O symptoms (cramping, breast tenderness, change in cm, etc) so i tested and it showed a surge. Could that really have been a false reading??? I guess there is only one way to find out in another 10 days. Anyone have any experience with this? Anyone have pcos use OPKs and actually get pregnant?

Re: PCOS + OPKs....
With my first child, I used OPK's and showed a positive (BUT I was on clomid)
This time around we are just "winging it" and I received a Smiley on CD 24.
I've used OPK's before to "avoid" those few days when we were not TTC and it seemed to work out fine.
I have PCOS too

Re: PCOS + OPKs....
i have PCOS and ive had DOZENS of +OPKs that didnt lead to O. if you have high LH (a common symptom of PCOS) you can def get + readings and have them not lead to O.
the only way to know if you have actually O'ed is to temp. if you think you have PCOS and are not sure if you are Oing, I highly recommend temping for a cycle or two. even if you get AF there is still a possibility that you didnt release an egg, and temping will tell you if that happened or not.
Good luck!!
