Crooked teeth!? What to do?
My son is almost 8 and he lost 6 teeth so far. The 2 front teeth are slow coming in but one is completely in. The second one is about 1/3 of the way in and it looks very crooked. He always had a beautiful smile and I don't know why it's shocking to me that it looks so crooked, but it is. Obviously it can be corrected but does anyone know if it's worth going to a pediatric dentist to see if they can do anything now? Once it comes in, I know he would have to wait until all his teeth were in to do anything. We go to a regular dentist bc our dental doesn't cover the higher cost of the ped dentist but now I am considering it. The tooth right next to it is a baby tooth so I don't know if they might consider something proactive.
Any thoughts or experience to share?

I'm not sure if they can do anything, but if it makes you feel any better I had a tooth on the bottom front that came in completely sideways. My dad's insurance back then didn't cover braces so I didn't get them, and it did straighten out on it's own by the time I was in high school.

I don't have any experience with my kids, but I was going to the orthodontist at the end of 1st grade.
I see many 2nd graders with braces on in my school.

Re: Crooked teeth!? What to do?
If it were me, at the next regular dental visit I'd ask about an orthodontist- when to start going and for a recommendation. I don't think a dentist would be able to do anything at this point. HTH.
