nyc maternity leave
Can someone explain to me what the policy is? .. I won't be returning to my job after the baby so I'm wondering how that impacts me as far as the leave and what I'm entitled to. TIA!

when is baby due? are you never going back or taking 1 year or 5 years? You can take up to 5 years and still have your job back (but i do not think you are guaranteed your position)
say baby is due October. I wouldnt sign anything saying that you are not coming back until after your 6 weeks.. so you will get paid for whatever sick days you have. If you need health ins i wouldnt sign anything until after the 12 weeks.
What are you exactly looking for answers about?
You should go to the maternity workshop offered she goes over just about everything you need to know and you can ask her questions at the end. I think its the best thing to do to do everything properly in nyc since it seems few people know what is going on. FM if you wan the info
