traveling with formula

We are going away with our 2 1/2 month old and was wondering how do u travel with formula for the feedings???

Do you buy the liquid formula and once it is opened store it in a cooler with ice?? (hotel room doesnt have a frig)

Or do you bring the powder with water bottles and make the bottles that way??

Which do u find easier? or is there an easier way that I cant think of..thank you!

Re: traveling with formula

depending on where we were traveling to....we'd get the envelopes of formula (little 4 ounce powder) and pre-fill the bottles with the right amount of water.

OR - we would use the formula dispenser thing and again, pre-fill the bottles...

Re: traveling with formula

Not much help here, but we have always used powder formula. When we go away, I fill the bottles with water and then add the formula as needed. With liquid formula, it has to be refridgerated once it is open. You can bring the bottles and buy bottled water when you get to where you are going...

Re: traveling with formula

DS gets stomach aches from rtf so we always give him powdered (before I figured that out I was bringing along rtf singles). We use powder 4oz singles and bottled water if we go somewhere overnight. If we are going for the day I fill my starbucks thermos w/ hot water from the cooler and it lasts about 6 hours- it's just so much easier when the water is already warm...

Re: traveling with formula

We bring powdered formula in the formula dispenser. We buy a couple of bottles of water at the airport. It's pretty easy!

We did the same and they were very lenient with us for bringing water to make bottles
