any ones dog prego?
Any one looking forward to a new litter of baby pups? I am looking I think..for a new dog. I lost my Millie last week and I want a new companion for her old friend Olaf. millie was a lab and Olaf is a lab. I was first interested in a rescue st. bernard, then I tried Newfs at a shelter but they will not let me adopt one! when they have quite alot!!! all because I have 3 year old twins! I tried explaining I have a 104 pound lab and so on, they do not even want to hear it! they only adopt out large dogs--or shall i say dogs that will be large..(these were 9 weeks) to 12 yrs and up! so now I am considering any litter of puppies or some lovebug I might come across.. tia!

Re: any ones dog prego?
I'm really really sorry for the loss of your pet In regard to your question have you checked out petfinder.com? It's a great place to start, and personally (I'm a huge animal lover and want to save them all myself) I would start at the kill shelters to see if you could give a dog a new lease on life.
With the economy in the state that it's in and so many people becoming "breeders' shelters are really taxed and even if they don't want to they do to make room (totally sucks a$$) Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is one of them, and Animal care and Control is another...I would personally start there, at least look on petfinder to see if they have a breed you are looking for. If neither of those there are plenty of rescues.
HTH sorry it's so long!!
