New State test format...
Is anyone really nervous about teaching for the new test? We have absolutely no information on what the test will look like except for the format. I'm so nervous about this - this will be my 6th year but I feel so unprepared like I'm about to start my first year! I spoke to my coach and she said that testing prep books won't even be available until September - by the time my school goes through all the samples and decides which to order who knows how far away from the test we'll be! I feel like we're really failing our students in changing the test with such short notification to the teachers.

I've seen that too but it pretty much tells us nothing! Did your kids have to take that practice test in May or June? It was sooooo much different than the old test was. I wish we could have made photocopies to be able to really look at the tests and figure out new planning.

Yes, they did take the field tests. It was very confusing to monitor, since most had a different book. From one I can see on the above link is that they are doing away with the editing paragraphs and giving multiple choice with correcting one grammar error at a time. I saw that on the field test in May, and actually liked it.
I'm sure we won't know how to prepare them, they will not do as well as they could, and we will be blamed with our data report!
At least we have another month to relax!
