anyone here planning on a vbac or had a vbac
Hi... I am expecting our second baby in March... I didnt plan on being back on here for a little while longer but hey, these things are not that easy to plan... my first took almost a year and this one is a complete shock!
anyway, my son was born via c-section due to dropping heart rate during labor.. i did make it to 10cm...
anyone here have any vbac info they've gotten from thier OB??
I am finding it a little frustrating how some ppl are all for it or all against it!
the OB who delivered my son said she was all for it for my next baby...
TIA

Re: anyone here planning on a vbac or had a vbac
I am 34 weeks pregnant and I think I am going to try for a VBAC. My first pregnancy was vaginal and I was in labor for only about 6 hours and pushed for 45 minutes. My 2nd pregnancy was twins so I had to have a c-section due to one of them being small and they didn't want to stress the baby any further than he was.
I will let you know how it goes.

oh wow, you're story is just like mine!!!
i had an emerg. c for the same reasons as you.... dropping heart rate, etc...
i feel it was my own fault though.. i had the epidural the minute i walked into the hospital. In fact, I went to the hospital earlier than i should have, also.
I should have waited.
I was thinking of a vbac, but now that i know what i'm in for with a c, i'm more used to that...i'm scared of the unknown.
we shall see though

Re: anyone here planning on a vbac or had a vbac
I had a sched. c-section because the baby was breech. I want to to a VBAC this time around, but my dr. doesn't do them - so I need to find a new doctor.

YOU should NOT blame yourself....
There is no data what-so-ever saying that early epidurals or early hospitalizations have anything to do with increased CS.
Also, the "dropping heart rate" that would cause your OB to worry and to do a CS is a sign your baby is not getting enough blood flow and oxygen.
