Short LP

Anyone have info on this?

I am out this month but earlier than expected. I O'd (definately felt it too) on 7/27 and got AF on 8/6-7. That means my LP was 10-11 days. This might be within normal BUT I had a M/C 8-10 weeks and then for the 2nd PG with DS, my progesterone was low but we watched and he was OK.

So I suspect with all these together that I might have LPD...

Anything I can do about this? I can't stand to have another M/C if I do get PG. And I don't think I can go to an RE now because they would laugh at me. Plus, getting an appt where I live (not NY anymore) is months.... my "preceonception" appt is 7 weeks from now! Chat Icon

Re: Short LP

I was just reading about this because I have a short LP (11 - 12 days). Vitamin B6 is supposed to help, though I haven't tried it yet.

Re: Short LP

From what I've read, anything under 10 days is considered a short LP. Mine is about 8 or 9 days, or has been at least for the 2 months I've been keeping track. This month I am going to start taking Vitex to try and lengthen it. I have also heard that B6 helps, but that it is better to take a B complex as your body absorbs it better that way as opposed to the B6 on its own. Good Luck!!

Yup! B6 with a B complex as well as Vitex are all supposed to help lengthen your LP. I would say if you don't see a difference in 3 months, then consult your Dr. How sure are you of when you ovulate? Is it possible you could be off by a day or two?

Re: Short LP

I had 2 cycles where my LP was only 10 days. The RE wanted the LP to be at least 12 days so I was put on Clomid. The next month my LP was 12 days and the month after that it was 14 days. Chat Icon

Same here. I was put on Clomid for mine and also started taking Prometrium after I O'd. I got a BFP on my second month of that combination so I definitely think it helped!
