Re: Brain Balance
I have also heard mixed things. In fact I see from the related posts I asked about it here last year. Honestly, we just can't afford the cost, especially on something with mixed reviews. I know someone who swears by it but he also swears by a lot of other things that are "iffy" and costly.

Re: Brain Balance
I explored their website before I responded. Things like this enrage me - they use scientific concepts to make it sound like this is based on research, which is it is not. They use the scientific fact around neuroplasticity to sell what they do - meantime, the most important thing to know about neuroplasticity is that the brain can be changed through BEHAVIORAL intervention. The brain reconnects synapses by repeating the same thing over and over again.
Think of a field with high grass. The path is created again and again through people walking the same way each and everytime. This is what a behavior that is reinforced again and again creates in the brain. Yet - they mention NOTHING about this!!!
They say - posture, nutrition, etc - is what will help your child. Yes, but first of all - I see no research about brain balance ANYWHERE. Just testimonials. That deeply disturbs me. For 6,000 dollars - how about some science related specifically to their method to back it up? Otherwise, this falls in the category of taking advantage of families desperate to help their child. And I find that sinful.
Please - before anyone shells out money like this - do your research. Ask the hard questions!!!
