Ava Kathleen's Birth Story...7/31/10

Hi Ladies
WOW! I can't believe it's taken me this long to write something, but as you all know, being a new mommy requires lots of time & patience!!!
Anyway, as many of you know, I was going back and forth about being induced 4 days before my due date, but I had total faith in my doc (obviously) and went ahead and did the induction...GREAT experience...Read on!
Ok, so we got to NSUH around 12:15am on the 31st. Everyone was great from the second we were admitted. They immediately hooked me up to monitors and they said I was having some pretty good contractions, however, I wasn't feeling a thing!Around 2:30am, they gave me the smallest amount of cytotec because I was already 3 centimeters and 80% effaced on my own. I pretty much just relaxed and slept most of the night, watching Father of the Bride Parts 1 and 2 on TV (how ironic that these are my 2 fave movies and they were on back to back in the middle of the night)! Then, around 7am, I started leaking amniotic fluid on my own, and at 8:30am, my doc came in and officially broke my water...didn't hurt at all. I forgot to mention that around 6am, they started me on Pitocin. Fast forward to around 11am, almost 6 centimeters dialated, and still not feeling one contraction, I don't know how, but the nurses and my husband couldn't believe it, because the monitor was going nuts! LOL I am a WUSS with pain, but seriously, I wasn't feeling anything. Then, a few minutes later, I started to feel something, it was like a bad gas pain, then it shifted towards my back and felt like a charlie horse on my lower left side, that's when I said, HELLO EPIDURAL!!! I didn't want to wait any longer and take a chance, so I got it 5 minutes later...again, I felt not a thing when he did it, he was fabulous! At this point, it was about 11:15 or so and I was 6 centimeters and 95% effaced. I slept...yes...slept, until 2:15pm. At that point, I was 10 centimeters and 100% effaced, but not yet feeling the urge to push. So, we just kinda hung on and waited til about 3, then started doing some practice pushes, and I officially started! Honestly, for the first 40 minutes, I have to admit, I had NO idea what the heck I was doing! LOL But then, I felt that "spot" and I was like, oh that's what it feels like..so really, the last 40 minutes, I worked! I wouldn't say it was painful, it was just tons of pressure! DH was a GREAT coach, and AVA KATHLEEN entered the world at 4:31pm at 6lbs.9ou and 20 inches long!
People were telling me NOT to induce, they had horror stories. Honestly, everyone is different. I had a great experience and would do it again in a heartbeat. I truly feel that you have to have the utmost faith in your doc, my doc never would have suggested it if I wasn't that dialated and effaced on my own. He would have made me wait! Thankfully, I had a great experience and really enjoying mommyhood!!!

I always thought he was boring, and when he came back in three I thought the charactor didn't serve the purpose that he'd served in the first two [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html]seasons[/url]. but i think the[url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html]show[/url]has actually gotten better without him. bringing cam on was a brilliant choice in two and I love Sweets. although even though I love every [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html]season[/url] I will say that so far the last three [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html] seasons[/url] have been dynamite..(I can't pick just one,Lol) but five was just amazing. the 100th [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html]episode[/url] proved to the best acted, best written [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html] episode[/url] of the [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html]series[/url]. and they remembered history. and although I'm a fan of booth and [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html] Bones [/url]as a coupling. I'm not an obsessed fan that gets upset or threatens not to watch if they do something that I don't understand. Like everyone complained about the finale of four. but the finale of four had a really great outcome in five. just like people are complaining on other boards about the finale of five. I loved[url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html] Bones [/url]. I loved everything about it. mostly, I loved it because it's so romantic. and you know their going to come back together, closer than ever. even if they come back with opposite others. it's going to bring them together. but anyway, I really enjoyed five. maybe in six everybody is going to see her fighting for him for a change. afterall, in [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html]season[/url] five he'd fought for her all [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html]season [/url] long. I think that would be an appropriate change of events. Booth, coming back with a new girl, [url=http://www.dvdsuperdeal.com/bones-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html] Bones [/url], jealous. her fighting for him to see her and take her like he'd wanted all along. that's what real romance novels and movies are made of. whether it lasts a long time or not. and you know, if it was fast or predictable when things would happen, the show wouldn't be so addicting.
