How to display cupcakes?
DD's 1st birthday is Saturday. We order 80 LARGE cupcakes for the party. Is there a creative way to display them w/out spending $75 for a cupcake tower? Anything I can make?

Take cardboard boxes of varying sizes and stack them on top of each other, to look like stacks of presents. Go to a fabric store and get some cheap fabric to cover the boxes. Hot glue the fabric to the boxes. (get a mini glue gun for around $2. and mini glue sticks for a few bucks.) Maybe even get some cheap trim for the edges of the boxes. Now you can stack the boxes together and give different levels to display cupcakes.
Am I making sense? here is a small version of what I am talking about. I made this small version for the card box at our wedding. You can even glue the boxes together after putting fabric on them, that way they won't shift.
I never realized how ugly that couch was.

Re: How to display cupcakes?
Okay I tried so many times to get that picture sized right and it wont work so I will try to explain.
My niece had a Snow White party and I made her the doll cake and cupcakes. I went to the craft store and bought different size boxes (cheap ones they get covered) and bought two yards of fabric that resembled Snow White's gown. I set the boxes up, threw the fabric over them, put the doll cake on the highest box, and the cupcakes on the table and boxes all around her. Oh and I tied a ribbon around the box the doll cake was on so that it stood out. It looked so cute.

I found in AC Moore ice cream sundae cups with matching cake plates.I turned the cups upside down and put the plates on top. You can go to a .99 cent store and use clear ones and see if they have different sizes to get different heights. Or you can get white ones and paint polkadots on them to match your theme.
