I just finished Fly Away Home and was dissapointed in the ending.

me too. I think that book was boring and I usually like her stuff. I actually was skimming some parts.

Have you read Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah? Great book! I read three other books by her this summer. All great!

The only book I've managed to get thru this summer is Hush by Kate White... I really liked it. But then again, I'm a big fan of all of her books.

Wow, I've had the opposite experience! I've read sooo much great stuff this summer!
I finished the Into the Wilderness series by Sara Donati... awesome.
I read The Bronze Horseman and Tatiana & Alexander by Paullina Simons. Fantastic and lifechanging. I have a new favorite leading man :)
Rediscovered Bill Bryson and read In a Sunburned Country, A Walk in the Woods, and I'm a Stranger Here Myself. Laughed my butt off.
Also reread a few of the Outlander books becasue I can't freakin help myself. Jamie Fraser.... swoon.

See I LOVED this- it may be my favorite J. Weiner novel now. However, a few others I know (my mom) didn't love it as much as I did.
I read 2 novels by Elin Hidebrand- A Summer Affair and Barefoot. They were total beach reads, but FUN and I couldn't put either one down. I plan to read her others.

You have to give this one another try. The choppy, uncomfortable wording is the mother's character.
I read this about 6 or 7 years ago and it remains one of my favorites!

Everyone in book club said it wasnt all like that... but no one really liked it very much... i dont even have the book in my posession so i probably would never pick it up again...

Well, I'm glad to have some ideas for titles now. 
Re We Need to Talk About Kevin- I read that with my book club last year. I think it's a great book for that purpose because it gave us so much to discuss. It's a difficult read but worth it.
