DH vent- TMI
My DH has issues producing samples when needed. Our first fertility treatment (IUI), he was unable to produce and the insemination was postponed to the next day. The clinic suggested freezing backup sperm for future treatments. This worked out great for my last 2 IVF cycles. He would produce at home on the weekend and bring to the clinic to freeze about a week before retrieval. However, we are now using a clinic that does not offer this service on weekends and is about 2 hours away. Has anyone's DH had this issue? Just wanted to see if this is common with men. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Kind of. DH produced fine for his SA and our first IUI. Although, our 2nd IUI (back to back) he could not produce. So we had to cancel the 2nd IUI. I was pretty upset about it, but the DR said that our 1st number was really good so just go home and  and we should be covered. It did pi$$ me off that he couldn't do it, I mean I have to get probed, prodded, stuck with needles and all he has to do is j**k off. Sorry! I guess I am still a little bitter. 
So don't feel bad, I guess when the pressure is on they don't handle it well. Hope it works out!

That is so true!!!! That had happen a few times to my DH during back to back intercourse and I would get so furious!

ok funny story. hope I don't offend anyone though.
SOOO...my DH thinks hes funny (he is but I don't like to admit it...lol)
When we started with RE and he gave him the specimen cup and told him to bring in his "sample" the day of the IUI he looked at him and said "its ok if she spits it in the cup right?!" Thank God my Dr had the same personality as my husband cause I turned 6 shades of red and they laughed their a$$es off. Then he went on to tell Hubby how they actually had a patient before that they couldn't understand how the sperm was always no good the day of, and she was not getting pregnant and then the couple told him how they were getting the sample and it all made perfect sense. Somehow that is NOT an acceptable method of production!
Just wanted to lighten up the situation a little for you. Maybe if you offer to help he won't be so gun shy?? IDK I agree that we go through hell and all they have to do is jerk off in a cup and somehow its a big deal!! MEN!!!

I said intercourse because that's all I've been thinking about lately! Sorry TMI but I haven't for over a month now because of this whole IVF business  and before this it's been only between IUIs  The most action I've been getting lately has been in Dr B's exam rooms with the sono probes

Thanks for the response. I totally agree and complain about it all the time. Men are such babies. There are days I want to punch him out

DH has issues producing "on command". We use the fertility condoms. It gets expensive having to order them...but his counts are much higher using the condom then when it's "just him".
