Bloodwork

Did anyone's doc order preconception blood work done? My doc's office called me to ask, whether I needed a script for getting it done prior to my appt? I didn't mention ttc or anything to them yet..

we r ttc starting in dec and i have a appt for lots of bloodwork in like 2 weeks..she wanted it done before we start but i thought it was bc we had a mc in june

hmm.. interesting. now i'm curious, i told the front desk that i just wanted to speak to the doc before i say yes or no..

this is a great question - what would the bloodwork be for? what do they test for at this early stage?

just spoke to doc.. she said at my last appt. (a year ago) i mentioned about looking into ttc this year.. so that's why her office called.. and the bloodwork is to check my thyroid based on family history.. phew..

When I told my doctor in April that we were going to start ttc in August I asked what I should do to prepare and she said take prenatal vitamins and gave me a prescription for bloodwork. I went for the bloodwork in June.

My Dr. did blood work at my last regular appt. She said there are some regular blood tests. One was for spinal muscuar something or other and fragile x. I think they are basically tests for chromosomal problems.
