Re: Kindle vs Nook?

Love, love, love my Nook. I have the wifi version.

What really pushed me toward the Nook vs. the Kindle was that I can borrow ebooks from the library, as well as purchase books from a variety of sources. The Kindle is the only ereader that does not support epub files, so you can pretty much only purchase from Amazon or Smashwords, you can't share your ebooks with others (which I can do with other Nook users 1x with each of my books) nor can you borrow from the library.

I have a card to borrow within the Nassau library system, as well as a NY Public Library card and I got one from the Philadelphia Free Library for $15 for the year. In the past 2 months I've borrowed about 20 books from the libraries, which is a huge savings.

Love my nook, I tried my SIL's Kindle and it was ok, I dont like all the buttons. And like PP poster said, you cannot beat borrowing books for free from the library.

WHY? I don't have to constantly buy books from Amazon.

I hesitated between both myself but the free ebooks from the library swinged the vote to the Nook.

The Nooks works with local libraries. I download books for free with my local library from my computer. No late fees, no going to library, no returns.

I have read many books this Summer. You get the Best Sellers too. I don't worry about how much more $$$ I need to spend on buy to use my ereader.

Re: Kindle vs Nook?

Don't know if you've already decided, but I have a Nook and I LOVE it. It's a little more user friendly to me than the Kindle. I have the 3G version and I can't tell you how awesome it is to be able to download books anywhere. I finished a book on the beach and needed a new one and was able to get one immediately. It is really great!

I went with the nook.

After doing some research and finding out I would be able to get books for free from my local library, I decided to go with the nook. Love it!!
