Question for parents

if you attended a holiday breakfast fundraiser for a local food pantry at a very upscale catering hall and something very similiar to this but a little less period victorian & a little more kid friendly with accessories was a raffle prize how much would you be willing to spend to win it if you knew 100% of the proceeds went to the cause?



I am working on one now for the charity I described & the director wants to know how much she should sell the tickets for. So please take my poll & would you rather buy one ticket or have lower priced tickets & buy more to increase your chances?

Personally, I'd rather have lower priced tickets and buy more to increase my chances. I think having higher priced tickets would intimidate people and make them hesitant to buy them. While the doll house is gorgeous, I know I wouldn't shell out $20+ for something I may not win.

Would you rather have one or two people spend $20 each or would you rather have 20 people spend $5 each? I think you'd gain more money keeping the prices lower IMO.

Not a parent, but saw your post on FHF.

It's beautiful. Is there also a fee to attend the fundraiser? Then I wouldn't go too high. Maybe $15?

If I really wanted it, I might enter more than once at that price.

ETA- I voted for $21-50, but I changed my mind.

How old are the kids in question? No way would I bid on this for SD...she takes horrible care of her belongings and that is something gorgeous that shouldn't be in the hands of a 7 year old!

The fundraiser will have adults of all ages, mostly women & probably lots of grandmas. This holiday fundraiser has been held for almost 20 years so they have a lot of the same people that come every year and from what I'm told there are some big spenders.

There will be tons of other items like gift baskets, IPods, a kindle & stuff that appeals to all different ages in a chinese auction.

I'm donating the entire dollhouse & furnishings which will have a conservative retail value of over $800 not including the labor
but houses like this appraise & sell for over $2000
So while its a little bit much for a young child, I would hope a child at just the right age would really love it.

I donate houses like this one all the time, I just never had any input on how much the raffles were sold for.

So if there are 200 people there & half of them spend $20 tickets for this house the charity will make approx $2,000 just on this raffle which would make me very happy

I would do under $20 (like 1 ticket for $5 or 5 for $20) to increase the number of ticket buyers. Most will do the 5 for $20
